Hi! my name is Paula McKay and thank you for visiting “Step it up Coaching," I started my coaching journey several years ago when I was privileged to work with an executive coach who helped me propel  career.  Throughout my career a certain theme has become very clear, I love serving people. I started my career in the airline industry. Most of them spent in risk management, helping people who were injured during their travels. For the past 20 years, I have been working for an educational non-profit organization the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC.) Where I've spear-headed their first customer care and client success departments. I've held positions in marketing and product management. I have a BS degree in Business and Leadership from George Mason University.

I have held roles as an advisor, leader, advocate, and mentor., These  experiences ultimately led me to professional coaching. I am a ICF certified coach. from George Mason University’s - Leadership Coaching for Organizational Well-Being program [1].

My coaching style reflects who I am as a person. I am a trusted, reliable friend and leader in my professional and personal life and I am often described as an effective listener and creative thinking partner. I bring these same qualities to my coaching. I am also a warm and empathetic person who creates a comfortable atmosphere for you, whether we are in an office or virtual setting, or sitting in a coffee shop.. My experiences working in the various fields of business and leadership have enabled me to listen on all levels, leading to insightful observations.  My honest and empathic approach helps clients gain self-awareness and create new approaches and possibilities to meet their individual goals.
